Politically correct

I think I’m going to take this time to talk about my political views.  That’s always a good way to piss people off, and to weed out the hypocrites.  I’m going to put out beliefs that are going to offend people, but all I ask is that before you dismiss me as a bigoted, narrow-minded person, I’d just like to say that just as you expect to be allowed to think as you wish, so do I.
I am a self-professed conservative.  This does not mean, however, that I support everything decision that is made by a republican politician.
The two greatest concerns of mine, politically, are really not political issues at all but have been made so by the public, so they must be a determining factor in how I vote.  I believe that the two greatest evils in the U.S. and those that will lead the quickest to our downfall are allowing abortions to happen in our country and allowing gay people to be legally married.  Abortion and homosexuality are two moral issues which have been made into political issues by people who are morally wrong.
I know that many people say that religion should be separate from politics, but I believe that morals and laws go hand and hand.  My morals are based on my religious beliefs.  My political preference is based on those who vote according to my morals.  It makes sense, right?

Allowing gay people to be legally married is one of the two greatest evils in the United States, and will lead the quickest to our downfall?

Why in the world would allowing gay people to be married lead to the downfall of our country?

I have just begun to read some some of your writing, when I stumbled into this page. You are absolutely correct: moral decay from within is the most likely reason that this country may someday falter and fail. Thank God for young people like you who have recognized this early in life where you can work to reverse the deterioration of the fabric of our society. And thank you for literally putting your life on the line for mine, daily.
