Promises or false hopes?
Let’s talk about campaign promises and reality. John Kerry is a smart man (or rather, his campaign manager is). He has figured out exactly what the people of America want. He’s promised to bring troops back from Iraq if he’s elected president. It’s a good move. There’s nothing the Soldiers here or their families would love more than to be able to go home. And, luckily, most of these people want that to happen so badly that they won’t question exactly how he plans on doing that. Yep, he’ll get those military votes he needs, because most people don’t care how realistic his plan is as long as he promises to do it.
In reality, Kerry’s “plan” to pull troops out of Iraq is really not a plan at all. He speaks vaguely about being able to convince foreign leaders to send their troops in, if only he were president. I don’t know, if it were that simple, it would have happened already. If the world’s leaders are withholding their support just because of GW, don’t you think that’s a little petty? And really, if Kerry has this amazing power to influence people, why hasn’t he used it already as senator? He won’t even say who he’s talked to, what these people have said or promised and we’re supposed to believe it?
These vague details are all he will reveal of his plan until he is elected, so, we’re supposed to vote for Kerry based on this weak promise, when he’s already acting in secrecy behind the backs of the American people?
And does he really have any idea what it’s like over here, besides what he’s heard from his senator friends who have visited (and believe me, we cover senator visits here, they really don’t see enough of what is going on in the couple hours they spend on ground). Does he have any idea what will happen here if huge numbers of U.S. troops were to pull out?
What kind of message would we send if we were to back out three quarters of the way into something we started? The Iraqi people have already said they need us here for now, what are we saying to them by leaving them before they are ready to take over?
He’s saying things to get votes, to please American voters, but one must wonder if there are any real intentions behind these shady promises.

Listen to me;
I realize that you are in a situation that you have no control over, so therefore why would you want to make yourself more miserable by pondering the vagaries of the political mission?? that sent you there in the first place. You want to believe that you are doing something positive and worthwhile. That your Commander in Chief- is doing the best he can. This is just like me, I am married for 20 years, and I want to believe my husband has not been cheating on me, because to believe it would cheapen my whole being.
But I can tell you as a civilian who has spent time in Europe in 2004, Kerry is telling the truth. "They" cannot stand the Bush administration's policy on Iraq and many other issues- ie International Treaties Reniged. They still like Americans, like America, but they cannot understand how we as citizens can sit quietly as this President- et al has led all of us down a path of morally wrong, preemptive war in Iraq, that is ballooning our budget deficit- all the while his personal friends in big energy firms and other industriesetc, are getting fat off the misery of our military. Yes, I was in the largest European country for over 2 weeks, and I am totally convinced that Kerry administration will bring our allies on board to help get out of this mess and you guys home.

Everyone knows Kerry can't do anymore than Bush, probably worse. Besides, Kerry doesn't even know what he is going to do.....it depends upon what the voters want. Kerry talked against the Vietnam veterans, and I believe I heard him say something similiar about the military personnel fighting in the Middle East now. I'm voting for President Bush.
Having been retired for 10 yrs now, that is after serving 20 plus in the US Navy I keep hearing about how much the World "cannot stand the Bush administration's policy on Iraq and many other issues". Having visited a good many places in Europe as well as the rest of the world. The world from what I saw with the exception of the British (side note it always took me days to get over one of their parties) could give two tinkers darn about the UNITED STATES, no matter what administration was in charge. I had a Vice Admiral I worked for said it best as it applies to combat missions
"The Donkeys and Elephants in Washington are standing on our backs looking for piss ants while we are trying to conduct ground operations in a hostile environment where the other guys would like nothing more that to take us out"
Fact is Most Military people trust Pres. Bush. Fact is Most Military people Don’t Trust Sen. Kerry.
Guess the one thing that get me a bit angry is that no matter what Europe or the rest of the world thinks about Pres. Bush or his administration if it came down to defending them (Europe) against invasion there would be little doubt, that American men and women would once again die on a foreign soil to ensure their freedom. Nothing more need be said
To the Men and Women that are serving, "Bravo Zulu” and thanks our prayers are with you and your family's
