Almost Famous
I haven't been in Tallahassee two weeks yet and I've already made the paper... AND it's not the police reports either (though it's not my byline yet either)
Today, as i left the house, I went through my usual routine. I stopped at the gas station to get something to drink and grab a paper on my way into town. As I was stopped at a red light, I glaced at the front page of the Democrat and saw my blog in a story about local bloggers.
The people at the Democrat may find my blog worthy of their paper, but not me, because I still haven't been hired. (Although, admittedly, I didn't put buffbabe on my resume)
So, I guess I'm officially a local.
At this point I'm still an unemployed local though.
I managed to apply for four more jobs today and my phone managed to ring NOT ONCE today.
It's depressing, really. I have no home, no job and if it weren't for the help of my absolutely wonderful inlaws, I'd be one of those homeless pathetic vets you see on the street here.
I wonder what my sign would say....
"Perfectly healthy vet incapable of finding a job, please have pity?"
"Will write for food?"
I guess I just need to have patience.
The good news is, my darling will be back soon and officially out of the Marine Corps. We'll be a couple of unemployed war vets, won't it be cute?
And to take advantage of my new local audience, is anyone looking to hire a CNA/writer/photographer/entry level Army chick?
What about this, can I get some locals to tell me about the city. What should I be doing here? Where should I go?

Where would you like to go. College towns are great because there's a little of everything. But I can tell you there's definately a Popeye's on the corner of Tennessee and Maccombe ;)
